Hope for the Homeless
November is here, which means we’re getting close to one of the year’s best holidays: Thanksgiving. It’s not just the turkey and stuffing that make the season so great. It’s not even the pie, though who can resist a slice of pumpkin (or pecan!) with a cup of coffee. Instead, it’s who we’ll be eating with this month.
At The City Mission, Thanksgiving is an opportunity to invite thousands of hurting men, women, and children to our tables. For the homeless in Cleveland, it’s an opportunity to share a hot meal with others –a welcome break from the loneliness of life on the streets. It also gives these men and women something else –hope that tomorrow can be better. Hope that someone is there to help. Hope that they don’t have to walk alone any longer.
A meal at The Mission is just $2.06. It’s a small amount that has a BIG impact, and we need your help as we prepare to serve over 14,000 meals this November. That meal is someone’s first step to recovery from an addiction, safety from domestic violence, or restoring dignity after losing a job. Will you help us serve these life-changing meals this month?
