Rise is a community of diverse, dynamic, and generous women with a shared purpose: empowering women and children experiencing homelessness in Cleveland to rise up from their circumstances through the power of hope.

To create lasting paths out of poverty, the women of Rise unite their voices and their philanthropic resources to amplify impact, progress through unity, and provide hope to Cleveland families for generations to come.

Founded in 2021 as a supportive ministry of The City Mission, Rise prepares to answer the call of a city in need of hope and change through strategic philanthropy.

Because the truth is, when women share their energy and financial resources, we have the ability to transform an entire community.

2023 Rise Project: Laura's Home Dining Room Renovations

Laura’s Home currently serves meals to 165 women and children three times per day, as well as an evening snack. Last Fiscal Year, Laura’s Home served over 75,000 meals to residents.

To meet this growing demand, we are excited to announce a new project that will serve residents, staff, volunteers, guests, and those in emergency overflow at Laura’s Home!

In the coming months, we will be updating our dining room to provide renovations to the self-service station. These improvements will include new cabinetry and shelving, a pantry, counterspace for a breakfast bar, a new toaster, two refrigeration units, two double 5-gallon beverage dispensers, and countertop ice and water dispensers.

Residents will also have a pantry stocked with non-perishable items that can be easily prepared as an alternative to a bagged lunch after kitchen staff have left for the day

Rise membership dues will go towards funding this project in 2023. Unique volunteer opportunities with the women and children staying at Laura’s Home will be available throughout the year!
