  • Expand marketing exposure to your existing and potential customer base.
  • Raise awareness and support for the important work of The City Mission!

How Your Company Can Impact Their Immediate Community

Do you have emerging leaders in your organization? If you're passionate about serving Clevelanders in crisis or know someone who would be a good fit to champion our mission, visit our Associate Board page to learn more. We'd also love your company to become involved in any of the following ways:

Sponsor: Expand your marketing exposure by sponsoring and attending the Running with a Mission 5k and 1 mile walk. Email Jaime Buxton or call (216) 431-3510, ext. 216 today for a sponsorship packet. There are many other ways to show your support for the residents we serve. Churches, and companies are welcome to contact Jaime as we have ongoing graduation celebrations at both Laura’s Home and Crossroads, with opportunities available throughout the year.

Support: Provide an outright grant to support any of our program/service areas such as emergency shelter, group counseling or capital improvements.  For more information please email Marilyn Taylor.

Build:In Ohio, a single mother working a minimum wage job — the work most of our guests are eligible for — must work 100 hours each week to afford a basic two-bedroom apartment.  We’ve created the New Horizons Program to address this massive issue. In 2018 AXA Advisors became our first corporate partner, and moved Chanelle and her family into their home in time for Christmas! New Horizons works with outside organizations to move a single-mother family from homeless to housed to homeowners. Contact Michael Hahn, Director of Programs, to learn if this life-changing opportunity is a good fit for your company.

Contribute: If your company provides goods or services that fit one of our need areas, let’s talk! Previous companies have contributed physical supplies and in-kind services such as legal aid, financial counseling, commercial cleaning materials, lawn equipment and more. Contact Chief Development Officer, Michele Krampitz, by email or call (216) 431-3510 ext. 216 for more details.

Volunteer: Do you have monthly, yearly or special opportunities to volunteer with your company? We organize impactful service activities for groups every week. Connect with us on our volunteer page and we’ll help you discover the best fit for your commitment level.

Match: If your local or national company matches employee charity contributions, consider adding us to that list. For more information please contact our Development Office by emailing Jaime Buxton or calling (216) 431-3510 ext. 269

Educate: Enhance a staff or a regional business meeting by inviting one of our staff members to speak on issues of homelessness and poverty by emailing connect@thecitymission.org with your request!

Kingdom Impact

The Downtown Arm of the Church

Since 1910, The City Mission has been known as the “Downtown Arm of the Church.” Today, we know it takes a wide range of backgrounds and talents to best serve our guests, and we’re passionate about stewarding your church’s specific gifts and resources for Kingdom impact.

How Your Church Can Serve The City Mission

Your church can serve the hurting men, women, and children of Cleveland within the 4 walls of your own building or you can join us at any of our facilities. Here are a few ideas:

Build: Make a commitment to truly and tangibly change the lives of a deserving single-mother and her family by providing a permanent home through our New Horizons Program.

Volunteer: Whether you want to give back as a congregation, group, family or individual, we have a wide range of meaningful volunteer activities available throughout the year. Check out our volunteer opportunities today!

Give: Consider making a special financial gift to The City Mission by establishing a monthly contribution or a one time gift.

Gift: With more than hundreds of men, women, and children living with us on any given day, we have continual and seasonal needs for items to help individuals during their time at the Mission. Visit our material gifts page for the latest asks.

Attend: You’re invited to promote and attend our fun special events! Each year, we host Running with a Mission, and events that are intended to raise awareness and funds for our men, women and children. By attending and promoting our events, you help us tell the story of The City Mission and allow the events to have a greater impact. Email Jaime Buxton for our list of current events and promotional materials.

Intern: We’re always on the lookout for students with a strong faith to serve and learn alongside our staff and clients. Let your collegiate members know that we have exciting  internship opportunities available.

Fundraise: Host a Fundraiser or Friend-raiser. Stage an event (spaghetti dinner, raffle, auction, etc. – sky’s the limit!) for your church or community. We provide speakers and ideas, you provide the plan and resources! Email Jaime Buxton to get started.

How The City Mission Can Serve Your Church

Service is a two-way street! We want your members to live out what they learn on Sundays, and acquire new skills they can also use to benefit your church family through engaging with us. The Mission wants to serve your church by:

Providing speakers for events, services, Sunday school classes, and more.

Attending your church mission events or service fairs.

Providing tours of The City Mission for your church members. Schedule a tour on our website now.

Providing service and learning experiences for youth groups and members.

Email Jamie Buxton today to learn more about these and other ways to empower the hurting and homeless in your community.

Every contribution makes an impact
