What is Running with a Mission?
Running with a Mission is a 5k, 1 mile walk and kids dash hosted at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo by The City Mission and the Sherwin-Williams Women’s Club on June 16th. Funds raised benefit the women and children of Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center.
What is Laura’s Home?
Laura’s Home empowers women and children recovering from crisis with practical help, restored hearts and sustainable homes. With 166 beds and 55 rooms, Laura’s Home offers a variety of long-term care services such as food and shelter, counseling, job prep, and financial planning with the intention of preparing single women, moms and kids for healthy futures.
Why am I raising money while training for Running with a Mission?
The need far outweighs the resources, so every little bit counts. I’ve known about Laura’s Home for many years and have donated clothing, but would like to be more involved and do more. My Godchild needed their service(s) several years ago and thank God, they were there for her. I know Laura’s Home and The City Mission is doing God’s work in so many people’s lives and I want that to be able to continue.
