Why am I raising money while training for Running with a Mission?
During my time interning at the Mission 5 years ago, my eyes were opened to the realities of homelessness in the city of Cleveland, and my heart was wrecked by the stories of life transformation that I heard and witnessed. Now, as an employee, I see it more and more – Jesus is changing hearts and lives at Laura’s Home. And that is certainly something worth running for! Along with that, I will be helping a group of ladies from Laura’s Home train to run the 5k in June. In this last year, running has become a sacred release for me – it’s challenged me to push myself harder, and enabled me to see Jesus in a new way. My hope is that throughout this training process, the ladies will not only come to see Jesus in a fresh way, but also come to uncover new things about themselves and what they’re capable of! This very well may be the first race they will train for and finish, and what a joy it will be to see them push through to the end. It’s an honor and privilege to train with these ladies, and I look forward to running beside them on June 18th! Will you consider joining me in supporting them?
