Why am I raising money while training for Running with a Mission?
There are so many reasons! As most of you know, I interned at the Mission 5 years ago and fell in love with their work and the city of Cleveland. Now, as an employee, I’m proud to say that 91 cents of every dollar raised goes directly toward client care. But this specific goal is especially close to my heart because of my relationship with running and the ways it has given back to me over the past 12 years we’ve officially been together. Starting in early May, I’ll be helping a group of women at Laura’s Home train to run the 5k on June 16th. For some, it will be their first time running, for others, this will be their first race – for the entire group, it’s an opportunity to prove to their families, their community, and themselves that they can and will finish something through hard work and perseverance. Training with these ladies is an honor, and I cannot wait to see how God will move in their hearts, minds and legs over the next couple months. Will you join me in supporting them?
