
School supplies are collected in July and August to assist hundreds of students and their families in the various programs of The City Mission each year. ]
We accept and appreciate donations of these items throughout the year to meet ongoing needs.
The Need
Laura's Home averages 30-40 school age children and teens each night. Based on our experience from previous years, we also expect to see 50-60 more students who will come to Laura's Home with their mothers between September and December.
Items Needed
School supplies:
2-pocket folders, single-subject spiral notebooks, pencils, pens (10-packs in black, blue or red), ruler, pencil case or box, notebook (loose leaf) paper, erasers, markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks or bottles of glue, protractors and flash cards
Backpacks (solid colors work well for both boys and girls)
Additional items:
- Gently used school shoes or gift cards for purchasing new shoes
- Gift cards to purchase new school uniforms for students from Laura's Home
- New socks
- New underwear
