Inmates & Families

The City Mission seeks to reach men, women and teens who are incarcerated in our Northeast Ohio jails and our Ohio prisons, to bring Christ into their lives and their hearts. They receive regular mailings and can correspond with us. We bring them Bibles and reading glasses. They learn about how to make different choices, applying the lessons right where they are at the moment, even if their sentence does not include the possibility of release in the future. We also can help their families who are dealing with many different issues.

Since we may have worked with the inmates for years and even decades, many will request the judge to permit them to come to Crossroads or Laura's Home after their release. We then have the opportunity to care for both the individual and family during this critical transition time as each adjust to the new reality of their situation in the hope that they, individually and together, progress toward a future that years earlier seemed like an impossible dream.
