Summer Student Internship Experience
The summer program allows interns to live at Laura's Home for 11 weeks and minister to the needs of the women and children.
Opportunities for Summer 2012 will be posted in the late fall on our Employment page.
Current Needs
Donations of the following are accepted throughout the year for Laura's Home (if donating at the E. 55th campus, please mark on the box "For Laura's Home.") Donation locations and receiving hours
• Diapers (especially size 4-6), pull-ups and baby wipes
We go through a lot of diapers. Please consider joining our Diaper Club.
- Can you donate a package of diapers at least once per quarter?
- Would you like to be emailed when we have an urgent need for diapers?
- Both??
Join the Diaper Club!
• Baby formula (primarily Similac with iron)
• Bus tickets (mark envelope to the attention of 'Development Department - for Laura's Home')
• Bible dictionaries
• Birthday gifts for the women (journals, costume jewelry, gift cards, etc.)
• Tickets to the movies or events (mark envelope to the attention of 'Pam Glicker for Laura's Home')
• Outside playground equipment (volleyball, tennis, badminton, tetherball)
The following items are needed but we are asking that they be donated at 5310 Carnegie Ave. in downtown Cleveland or by appointment only at Laura's Home (call 216-472-5500 ext. 317). If you are bringing your donation downtown, please label your bag or box "Laura's Home" if you desire your donation to be used only by Laura's Home clients.
• Twin-sized sheets and pillowcases
• Towels and washcloths
• Clothing - Please call 216-431-3510 ext. 317 for an update on current clothing needs and appointment to drop off items. Currently we are looking for fall and winter items, especially plus size women's clothing. Typical items needed are business attire, sleepwear, shoes, purses and accessories. New socks and underwear are always needed and can be delivered downtown. Please note that we cannot accept spring or summer items due to a lack of storage space.
