
2012 Field of Hope Luncheon with Terry Pluto
Award-winning Plain Dealer sports columnist Terry Pluto with be the guest speaker at The City Mission's 5th Annual Field of Hope Luncheon on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Legends Club at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Sports, Faith and Prison Ministry
In addition his sports column, Terry writes about religion and faith issues twice a month for the PD and has been involved in prison ministry for many years. The "Field of Hope" Luncheon this year will benefit the Mission's 100+ year jail and prison ministry, Inmate Outreach Services.
His numerous writng awards include being honored twice as the nation's top sports columnist for medium-sized newspapers by the Associated Press Sports Editors and nine times as the Ohio Sports Writer of the Year. In 2005 he was inducted into the Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame.
He is the author of 23 books, including The Curse of Rocky Colavito (selected by the New York Times as one of the five notable sports books of 1989), and Loose Balls, which was ranked number 13 on Sports Illustrated's list of the Top 100 Sports Books of All Time.
The Mission will have copies of his books available for purchase and Terry will sign books after the luncheon.

Schedule: Meet and greet and registration at 11:30 am
Luncheon will run from noon - 1:30 pm.
