The City Mission is one of Cleveland’s most recognized charities helping those in our city who are in need. Yet what we specifically do remains a mystery to some.
For over a century we have met people at the point of their need with practical help and loving concern, demonstrating a small portion of God’s love for them. Some may have nowhere else to go and we can provide a warm bed, a meal or other basic needs. Others are ready to change their lives by examining what led them to this point of crisis. In addition, since our main campus at E. 55th and Carnegie Ave. is located in the poorest neighborhood of Cleveland, we provide programs for children, teens and their parents to build a better future for their lives thorough our youth and family services.
The City Mission has been blessed by a committed and qualified staff, enhanced through our partnerships with other Cleveland area agencies, and supported by dedicated volunteers and donors who contribute their time, talent and treasure to make The City Mission effective. Over the years, our city, economic conditions, social issues and needs of its people have changed, but our mission hasn’t with our focus of reaching individuals with the Gospel of Christ and the principles of God’s Word. That is what truly changes lives.
