Crossroads Culinary Kitchen

The Crossroads Culinary Kitchen is designed to give men and women a greater opportunity for employment through training and experience in the food services industry, one fo the fastest growing industries in America.

The structured training these students receive includes comprehensive lectures, hands-on demonstration and practice, online video instruction, and field trips.  After completeing the 16 week course, participants are carefully placed with an internship partner for a 4-week unpaid internship in an area restaurant, food service operation, or hotel.  After successful completion of the program, students will be ServSafe certified, with approximately 640 hours of training, equiping them to succesfully enter the work force.

Their experience is especially valuable because it of it's practical hands-on opportunities .  Students are responsible for all special food service needs for both our main and Laura's Home campuses, from planning menus, timely ordering of food, proper food handling and storage, preparation and finally presentation.  They also play a key role in our day-to-day food prepareation of nutritious meals for all our clients, all under the guidance and instruction of an experienced chef.
